The Art of Thinking BIG

If you only think small, limited thoughts, your life will reflect that. If you train your mind to think big, to see beyond the ordinary and to believe in greater possibilities, your life will expand in ways you never imagined. Thinking big is an art, a skill that must be cultivated and the benefits can be life-changing.

When you think big, you can break free from the mundane and aim higher. Your thoughts shape your reality so if you constantly tell yourself something is impossible, your actions will reflect that belief. When you expand your thinking, you open yourself to opportunities, solutions and new levels of success.

Expand Your Horizons

One of the best ways to train your mind to think bigger is to expand your horizons. The mind is like elastic—once it has been stretched by new environments, ideas and possibilities, it can never return to its original, limited state. Make a point to travel and explore new experiences because expansion happens when you challenge yourself to step into the unfamiliar. Seeing how others live, work and create success will open your eyes to what is possible beyond your current circumstances. It will remind you that the world is vast and so are the opportunities within it.

When you step outside your daily routine, outside the limitations of your immediate surroundings, you gain fresh perspectives. Your comfort zone may feel safe but it also restricts your growth. To help Abraham expand his vision, God took him outside of his tent—his place of comfort—and told him to look up (Genesis 15:5). Sometimes, God has to pull us out of our familiar surroundings to help us see the bigger picture.

Feed Your Mind

Just as your body needs nutritious food to grow and stay strong, your mind needs the right “food” to expand and thrive. What you feed your mind determines its capacity to think, create and dream. If you constantly consume negativity and doubt, your mindset will shrink to match that limited perspective. However, when you feed your mind with wisdom, knowledge and inspiring ideas, it will stretch and develop in powerful ways. Proverbs 4:7 says, “Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!” (NLT). Read books that challenge you, listen to teachings that expand your perspective and surround yourself with conversations that spark new ideas.

Spend Time with Big Thinkers

Who you spend time with influences how you think. If you surround yourself with people who think big and have a growth mindset, it will rub off on you. Their vision and ambition will ignite a spark in your mind, one that can be fanned into flames. Spend time with people who challenge you to grow and inspire you to dream bigger.

Transform Your Mind, Transform Your Life

As you train your mind to think bigger, your life will expand. You will see possibilities where you once saw obstacles. Thinking big helps you step into all that God has designed for you. You can start cultivating the art of thinking big today. Stretch your mind, expand your experiences and embrace the possibilities ahead. You were never meant to live small—so start thinking big and watch your life transform!
